I have been curious to actually wear the Apple Watch since it was first announced by Apple last year. I have never had a particular impression of smart watches/wearables and I was curious to see if Apple would manage to change my mind as it had managed to do on so many niche products in the past. I was always to lazy to wait in line or make an appointment to try it on at the Apple Store (what were they thinking? smh), but when it was announced that the watches would now be sold at Best Buy I knew the moment of truth had come. Last weekend I ran to Best Buy and finally tried on an Apple Watch Sport. Unfortunately, simply wearing the watch for a few seconds does not really answer the more important questions such as what will I use this for? How does it fit into my daily routine? Will I use it enough to justify the inflated price tag? I think I would need at least two weeks to really be able to see if it is something I would like to invest in and subsequently continue upgrading over the years as Apple undoubtedly releases new versions of the watch. As countless others have written before me, the watch is very well designed and feels good on the wrist. It is actually so sleek, that even the bigger version of the watch makes me feel like I was wearing a watch that was designed for someone much smaller than myself. Using the watch was a little confusing at first, but overall I think Apple did a pretty good job of making navigation and features usable, even for people with gorilla fingers such as myself. I didn't get to use the apps too much in the store, but I could already see how I might get good use out of the weather, calendar, maps, and obviously the different watch faces All in all, I'm apprehensive about spending as much on the watch as I would on a brand new iPad as i'm still not sure how much use I would get out of this beautiful piece of technology. However, when I think about the fact that there are many who would gladly spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars on a well made traditional watch, the $499 price tag doesn't seem so unreasonable for a watch that does so much on top of simply telling time. I will be on the look out for any special deals in the upcoming months and maybe, just maybe, I will be able to start rocking my very own Apple Watch
